New Term - Week Long Group Project

To start off the new term, we've been given a quick week long project by our new course supervisor to get our creative juices flowing again after the christmas. The project involves us replicating an art or design classic using only edible ingredients in groups of 4 or 5.

My group was given the new design for the Red London Routemaster double decker bus to replicate to our best abilities using only food.

We decided to not be too ambitious and make it a fairly small size. We also decided to make it out of sponge cake and cover it in red and black icing, aswell as various sweets for the embellishments on the cake.

I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out and as a group we were all satisfied with our efforts. I think if we were to make it again, we could make it a little bigger. Also we could have pre-mixed the red icing the night before and not just the black, this would have saved us some time on assembly day and might have meant the red icing didn't tear as easily because it would have had ample time to cool down and harden enough to roll out properly.
